Today has been very busy for me. The craft show at the Union County Farmer's Market was a washout due to the cold and windy rain. Next week I will be going to Southport, NC. I have been busy creating art to take to the shops, bed and breakfast, and museum. My favorite piece done today can be seen below.

This summer has been very productive for me. I was able to go to Southport twice where I photographed so many beautiful buildings and scenes. You can find more photos in the Gallery.
I also did quite a bit more art for the town of Monroe, NC. You can find more photos in the Gallery.

This has been a good week for me. I just sold my image of the train depot in Monroe, NC. I took this photo during the summer of 2011, and I used PhotoShop and Corel Painter to complete the artistic effects.

The Monroe Enquirer Journal highlighted my Monroe art in the County Living section of the Sunday paper on July 7, 2013. A couple years ago, while recovering from back surgery, I walked all over town taking photos. Then I sat down at my computer and used various software to create photo paintings. I had 5 months just to experiment with the software. What a wonderful learning experience!

My photo painting, Aberdeen, Carolina and Western, won our local contest to be sent to the Art Exhibit in the NC Community College System home offices building in Raleigh. It will hang there for the next year. This is my 6th piece to be exhibited in Raleigh over the past 5 years. I am thrilled once again about this honor.
As some of you know, I spent 5 months on medical leave during 2011, and this piece of work was completed during that time. Another of my pieces completed during my medical leave, Secrest Feed and Seed, also won 2nd place in the Southern Piedmont Artist's Guild competition back in October, and it hung in the entryway hall at South Piedmont Community College in Monroe during the months of October and November. I felt so useless during my illness, but these two honors helped me realize that even during a down time, you can still be creative.
